I am not sure where all of the hate is coming from with these headphones but stock out of the box and they sound incredible to me! WebThe midrange is the strong point on this headphone. WebHey Oratory, perhaps you could share some knowledge. I just sent back a pair of HD800S yesterday (I personally found the highs to be too much). I know that I could of EQd them, but I ended up ordering the HD8xx instead. Figured I would rather EQ their mids up, than the 800S highs down and bass up. (Also saved $530 in my currency). WebSo I’ve used the oratory presets on my HD8XX and they made the headphones much better. Then, months later I decided to mess with Peace APO settings myself and they made the HD8xX into godlike cans, and got rid of fatigue too!! But to be fair I thought the K7xx was awful but that was because EQ didn’t fix it and you could get a K702 or K612 which was just better for the same price brand new. EQ can fix the HD8xx and you cant get an HD800 or HD800s brand new for the same price.
